The CSIRO deeply regrets the passing of William "Bill" Moore McKenzie, who passed away at Caulfield on 5 July 2008.
Bill graduated as Dux with a Diploma of Forestry from the Victorian
School of Forestry in 1942 which marked the start of a long career in
forestry both in Australia and overseas. He joined the Division of
Forest Products, CSIR, in South Melbourne in 1949, where his research
began in earnest, and he delivered his last paper at an international
seminar in Vancouver in 2007. This brought to a close more than sixty
years in the forest industry.
