We regret to advise of the recent death of John J. Lenaghan on 7 June 2009.  John was the Agricultural Scientist and Scientific Editor, in the CSIRO Publishing section, part of the Central Information and Library Service at 376 Albert St and then 314 Albert St for many years. 

 

John started work with CSIRO around the mid 1950's, leaving to study in California for a couple of years, then recommencing at East Melbourne. He was Monographs Editor and Editor of the Australian Journal of Forestry from 1980 to around 1988 and in these roles he had a lot of contact with scientific authors in CSIRO Divisions. During this period Basil Walby was Editor in Chief at CSIRO Publishing.  John retired from CSIRO in the early 1990's.
